MANIA Logos & Wordmarks

I had the pleasure of designing the wordmark (or masthead) for independent comic, MANIA, along with all the wordmarks and logos found within the world of the comic itself.

The comic was about individuals called "supermanics" who, for reasons explained in the book, developed superpowers as a side effect of mental illness. The masthead is meant to represent that juxtaposition. The letters are haphazardly segmented and misaligned vertically, yet a strong horizontal line pierces the entire word, unbroken. Subtle texturing serves to emphasize the fragmentation.

The diagetic art has varying amounts of thought put into it. The half-artificial brain, the "ARC", and the Granin torch are the standouts for me.
