In 2014 I was practicing digital painting and posting the results on Patreon. This remains one of my favorites to this day. Not only because I love insects, but the depth of focus I employed lends it such a sense of scale. It's a if the mantis is emerging from the dark, captured by a macro lens photo. The color palette really hits the spot, too.
